Artists may offer digital audio in a variety of formats, which may include some or all of the following:

MP3
Our MP3s are the highest bitrate possible (320kbps) and will play on any MP3 player. You can read more about MP3 here.

Apple Lossless
Apple Lossless files are as good or better than CD quality. These files may be played in iTunes, or other Apple devices. You can read more about Apple Lossless here.

FLAC
FLAC files are lossless and can be as good or better than CD quality but will not play in iTunes or Windows Media Player. You can read more about FLAC here.
-Please note that FLAC files cannot carry meta data, so you will not receive album art, track names, etc.

MP3HD
MP3HD is a lossless format, but is backwards compatible with the MP3 format by storing two data streams in a single file. Although these files are playable in most MP3 players, you will need to utilize a specialized program or device to take advantage of the lossless quality of these files. We have a knowledge base article that provides more information regarding MP3HD and what's required to playback the files, which you may view here.

Source
Source audio is the format which the artist uploaded directly onto our platform. This format is lossless and can be Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF or FLAC. Rest assured that that you are downloading the audio exactly as it was uploaded by the artist.
